Today was all about embracing the natural beauty of Rhodes. After several days immersed in history and culture, it felt wonderful to dedicate a day to pure relaxation and soaking up the Mediterranean sun. The island has so much to offer, and I was eager to experience its famed coastline firsthand with my friends.

Our day began with a delightful breakfast at Mezzaluna. It was a beautiful restaurant in the heart of the Old Town, like an oasis in amongst all the hustle & bustle of the busy streets. We enjoyed the warm Greek hospitality at its finest, in absolutely stunning surroundings! I opted for a traditional Greek yogurt with honey and nuts, while the others chose various pastries and strong Greek coffee. Fuelled and ready, we set off for our first destination: Faliraki Beach - Galazio Beach.

The drive to Faliraki was scenic, with glimpses of the turquoise sea peeking through the trees. As we arrived at Galazio Beach, I was immediately struck by its beauty. The beachfront location offered direct access to the sea with stunning views. The sunbeds looked super comfortable! The beach was clean, with crystal-clear water gently lapping the shore. We found a perfect spot, laid out our towels, and plunged into the refreshing water. It was invigorating! I felt the stress of everyday life melt away with each passing wave.

We spent a couple of hours swimming, sunbathing, and simply enjoying each other’s company. The atmosphere was lively yet relaxed, with families, couples, and groups of friends all enjoying the beach. We even tried our hand at windsurfing, though our attempts were more comical than graceful. Still, lots of laughs were shared!

Sometimes, the best travel experiences are the simplest ones: a beautiful beach, good company, and the warmth of the sun.

By lunchtime, we were all feeling peckish. We packed up our things and headed to Ta Kardasia, a restaurant in Rhodes Town known for its authentic Greek cuisine. The restaurant was charming, with a cozy and inviting atmosphere. We sat at a table adorned with a traditional blue-and-white checkered tablecloth and perused the menu. I decided on the moussaka, a classic Greek dish of layered eggplant, potatoes, and meat sauce topped with a creamy béchamel. It was absolutely divine! The flavors were rich and comforting, and it was clear that the dish was made with love. My friends opted for the kleftiko and sea bream, and everyone raved about their choices. The staff was so friendly and helpful, making our lunch even more enjoyable.

After lunch, we decided to do some shopping. We stumbled upon OhDeer.me, a quirky little shop in Rhodes Town. I found a beautiful handmade bracelet with a delicate deer charm – a perfect souvenir to remind me of my time in Rhodes. With our shopping bags in tow, we made our way to Anthony Quinn Bay. The viewpoint overlooking the bay was breathtaking. The emerald-green water sparkled in the sunlight, surrounded by dramatic cliffs and lush vegetation. It was easy to see why this bay was named after the famous actor – it was truly a cinematic setting.

We spent the late afternoon swimming and snorkeling in the bay. The water was cool and refreshing, and the underwater scenery was fascinating. I saw colorful fish darting among the rocks and even spotted a small octopus hiding in a crevice. It was like swimming in an aquarium!

As the sun began to set, we made our way to Capricci Italian Restaurant for dinner. I was a bit skeptical about having Italian food in Greece, but my friends insisted that it was a must-try. And they were right! The restaurant had a charming atmosphere, and the aroma of freshly baked pizza filled the air. I ordered the spaghetti carbonara, and it was cooked to perfection. The pasta was al dente, the sauce was creamy and rich, and the pancetta was crispy and flavorful. My friends ordered various pizzas and pasta dishes, and everyone was thoroughly impressed.

After dinner, we took a leisurely stroll along the harbor, enjoying the cool evening breeze and the twinkling lights of the town. It was the perfect end to a perfect day. As I reflected on our adventures, I felt grateful for the opportunity to experience the beauty and charm of Rhodes with my friends.

Tomorrow is sadly our last day here. We plan to visit the Temple of Apollo Pythios and experience the Sound & Light show. Then, we will have our farewell dinner at Dafni. I am already feeling a bit nostalgic, but I know that the memories we have made here will last a lifetime. I am so glad I decided to come on this trip with my friends. It has been an incredible experience, and I can't wait to see what adventures await us in the future.

As I prepare for our final day, I realize that this trip has been more than just a vacation. It has been a chance to reconnect with friends, explore a new culture, and create memories that I will cherish forever. I am grateful for the opportunity to travel and experience the world, and I am excited to see what adventures await me in the future. Until tomorrow!
