Today was a day of simple pleasures and unexpected finds in Phong Nha. It’s amazing how a change of pace can bring new perspectives, especially when you're surrounded by the stunning natural beauty of Vietnam.

Our day began with a hearty breakfast at Lantern Vietnamese Restaurant. Lena and I shared a bowl of *pho* and some fresh spring rolls, fueling up for a day of exploration. The restaurant had a cozy atmosphere, and the staff were incredibly welcoming. It was the perfect way to start the day, setting a positive tone for what was to come.

With our appetites satisfied, we decided to take a leisurely stroll along the Bờ bắc sông Son (Son River bank). After lunch, we took a short break at our guesthouse, escaping the midday sun. I took the opportunity to catch up on some writing, while Lena sketched in her notebook. We both value these quiet moments, a chance to recharge and reflect on our experiences.

As the afternoon waned, we decided to seek out a bit of local culture. We stumbled upon a small market, filled with vendors selling everything from fresh produce to handmade crafts. Lena, always on the lookout for unique souvenirs, found a beautiful hand-embroidered scarf. I, on the other hand, was drawn to the local coffee, eager to sample the region's brew.

Dinner was at Nhà Hàng Hải Sản Nhật Phong 3, a seafood restaurant recommended by a local. We indulged in a feast of fresh prawns, grilled fish, and stir-fried vegetables. With our bellies full and our spirits high, we decided to experience Phong Nha's nightlife. We headed to Dubai Pub Phong Nha, a bar known for its lively atmosphere and friendly staff. The pub was buzzing with activity, a mix of locals and tourists all enjoying the evening. We ordered some local beers and chatted with fellow travelers, sharing stories and laughter. The music was upbeat, and the energy was contagious. It was a fun, carefree way to end the day. I even tried my hand at karaoke, much to Lena's amusement (and perhaps a few other patrons' dismay).

The weather in Phong Nha in November is quite pleasant, with average temperatures ranging from 18°C to 27°C. We've had a mix of sunny days and occasional rain showers, but overall, it's been ideal for exploring the region. We made sure to pack lightweight clothing and a rain jacket, just in case. I did forget my power adapter, though, so I need to find one tomorrow.

Tomorrow, we're planning to visit The Duck Stop, which should be interesting. Lena is especially excited, as she loves animals, and I'm curious to see what it's all about. We also plan to try Phong Nha Vegan Restaurant for breakfast, ARTIST'S ZONE for lunch, and Phong nha Rooftop Bar for dinner. It sounds like another day filled with unique experiences and delicious food. We also intend to visit Đặc sản, cafe Hương Rừng to buy some local coffee.

As I sit here writing, reflecting on the day, I'm filled with a sense of gratitude. Phong Nha has a way of captivating you, of drawing you in with its natural beauty and warm hospitality. It's a place where you can slow down, connect with nature, and discover the simple joys of life. I'm so glad Lena and I decided to come here, to experience this hidden gem of Vietnam. It's a journey we'll cherish forever.
