From grand squares to poignant war memorials, and from bustling restaurants to cozy bars, Trieste offered a sensory feast that I couldn't wait to share.

Our morning began with a delightful breakfast at Ristorante San Michele. It was a quaint spot, tucked away from the main thoroughfare, promising an authentic taste of local cuisine. I opted for a cappuccino and a freshly baked *brioche*, while Hans chose a more savory start with a selection of local cheeses and cured meats. As we strolled across the sandstone pavement, I couldn't help but marvel at the square’s history, imagining the countless stories it could tell.
