Today, Olivia and I dove deeper into the heart of Morocco, exploring the enchanting town of Moulay Idriss. It's amazing how each day here brings a new layer of cultural richness and historical depth. Our day began with a delightful breakfast at Cafe Restaurant Nassim. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the sweet scent of Moroccan pastries filled the air as we settled into a cozy corner. I opted for a traditional Moroccan breakfast, complete with msemen (flaky pancake) and a generous serving of honey. Olivia, ever the adventurous one, tried the bissara, a hearty fava bean soup, declaring it the perfect start to a day of exploration. It was a simple meal, but the warm hospitality and the authentic flavors made it a memorable experience. We made sure to fuel up well, knowing we had a day of walking and sightseeing ahead of us.

With our appetites satisfied, we set out to explore Dar El-Makhzen. As we approached, the palace exuded an aura of historical grandeur. Though we couldn't go inside – the Royal Palace is often closed to the public – admiring the intricate details of the exterior was a treat in itself. As the day drew to a close, we made our way to La Baraka for dinner. This restaurant came highly recommended for its authentic Moroccan cuisine and cozy atmosphere. We were not disappointed. We plan to have breakfast at Cafe Machhour, lunch at Haytam, and dinner at Al Andaloussiya Diyafa. And, if time allows, we might even do some shopping at قيصرية مولاي ادريس. I'm eager to see what new adventures await us as we continue our journey through Morocco.
