Exploring the Enchanting Dades Valley: A Solo Adventure

Adieu, Dades Valley!

As my Moroccan adventure draws to a close, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey through the Dades Valley. Today was a day of final explorations, savoring the last moments of this stunning landscape and the warm Berber hospitality that has made this trip so special. It’s amazing how a place can seep into your soul in just a few days, leaving you with memories and a longing to return.

The morning started with a delightful breakfast at Restaurant Chez Aïcha Timlalt. The traditional Moroccan bread and homemade *msemmen*, a type of crepe, were the perfect start to the day. Sipping on mint tea, I savored the quiet morning, watching the valley slowly wake up. The staff were incredibly welcoming, making me feel like a regular even though it was my first and only visit.

After breakfast, I headed towards the majestic CANYON DADES. The views were even more breathtaking in the clear morning light. I spent a good hour simply soaking it all in, snapping photos, and etching the scenery into my memory. The sheer scale of the canyon is humbling, and the vibrant colors of the rock formations create a surreal landscape. I could have stayed there all day, lost in the beauty of nature's artistry.

My next stop was Monkey Fingers House by Fatima mellal. This guesthouse is perfectly situated, offering stunning views of the famous monkey fingers rock formations. Fatima and her staff were incredibly welcoming, offering me tea and sharing stories about the local area. I took some time to relax on the rooftop terrace, enjoying the panoramic views and the gentle breeze. It was the perfect spot to unwind and reflect on my journey.

I couldn't resist a bit of shopping before leaving the Dades Valley, so I made a stop at Riad Luxury dades. Although I didn’t stay there, the shop had a lovely selection of local crafts and souvenirs. I picked up a few small items to remind me of my time here and some gifts for Lena and Sofia. I always try to find something unique that captures the essence of a place, and I think I succeeded this time.

Lunch was at Hôtel - Restaurant BOUGAFER. The restaurant offered a mix of Moroccan and international dishes, and I opted for a tagine, of course. It was a flavorful and satisfying meal, and the staff were attentive and friendly. The hotel itself looked quite charming, and I made a mental note to consider it for a future visit.

For my final dinner in the Dades Valley, I chose Dar Ahlam Dades hotel. This hotel is known for its authentic Berber décor and hospitality. The restaurant was beautifully decorated, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. I enjoyed a delicious meal of traditional Moroccan dishes, savoring every bite. The staff went out of their way to make me feel welcome, sharing stories and insights into the local culture. It was the perfect way to end my time in the Dades Valley.

As I prepare to leave Morocco and head back to Berlin, I am filled with gratitude for the experiences I've had here. This solo trip has been a reminder of the importance of stepping outside my comfort zone and embracing new cultures. From the stunning landscapes to the warm hospitality of the Berber people, the Dades Valley has left an indelible mark on my soul. I know that I will carry these memories with me always, and I hope to return someday with Lena and Sofia to share this magical place with them. It will be great to show them what I have experienced. The Dades Valley is a destination that truly deserves to be explored.

Tomorrow, I will be heading back to Marrakech to catch my flight home. I'm already looking forward to seeing my family and sharing my adventures with them. But a part of me will always remain in the Dades Valley, among the canyons, the kasbahs, and the warm-hearted people who welcomed me with open arms. Until next time, Morocco!
