Our last day began with a hearty breakfast at Samkomuhúsið Arnarstapa. It was a cozy spot, and as we enjoyed the home-made bread, I couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness that our Icelandic adventure was nearing its end. The friendly atmosphere of the place made it feel like a home away from home. It reminded me of the simple joys of 'Hygge' back in Denmark, a sense of comfort and contentment in the everyday moments.

First on our itinerary was Höskuldargerði. The drive there was beautiful, with the sun casting a golden glow over the landscape. When we arrived, we were greeted by a serene environment, perfect for a leisurely stroll. The area is known for its lush greenery and unique geological formations. I made a mental note to try and recreate the fish and chips recipe back home; Hans is particularly fond of fish.

In the late afternoon, we decided to treat ourselves to a pre-dinner drink at Hverinn - Restaurant & Bar. This cozy spot is known for its friendly staff and delicious food. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, and we enjoyed sampling some local beers while chatting about our favorite moments from the trip. I particularly enjoyed learning that they grow their own vegetables in onsite greenhouses, ensuring fresh ingredients for their dishes. It aligns perfectly with my interest in sustainable living.

This was a great place to just sit down and recap the amazing day we've had venturing through the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. It was the perfect way to end our day.

As the sun began to set, we took one last walk along the Arnarstapi cliffs. The golden light illuminated the dramatic rock formations, creating a breathtaking scene.
