Today was another beautiful day exploring the enchanting island of Paxos. We decided to spend the day in Gaios, the island's capital, soaking in its unique atmosphere and discovering hidden gems. It's amazing how each day here brings new surprises and unforgettable memories.

Our day began with a delightful breakfast at Fanalino Restaurant Bar. The restaurant is nestled in the heart of Gaios, offering a picturesque view of the main square and the bustling port. It was the perfect spot to start our day, with a gentle breeze and the sounds of the town waking up around us. I opted for a classic Greek yogurt with honey and fresh fruit, while Hans enjoyed a hearty omelet, and Sofia devoured her pancakes with a generous helping of Nutella. The staff was incredibly friendly, making us feel right at home. This family-run establishment truly knows how to make guests feel welcome. The kids can play safely in the nearby square, so it's a great choice for families.

After breakfast, we decided to explore Gaios on foot, eager to uncover its hidden corners. Our first stop was a spot marked simply as Footprint on our map. It turned out to be a scenic overlook that offered breathtaking views of the coastline. The Ionian Sea sparkled in the morning sun, and the rugged cliffs provided a dramatic backdrop. I couldn't resist snapping a few photos, trying to capture the essence of this stunning vista. It was a moment of pure serenity, a reminder of the simple joys of travel. We spent at least half an hour there just taking in the views.

Next on our list was the Instagram spot -corner. Sofia was particularly excited about this one, as she loves taking pictures. We wandered through the narrow streets of Gaios, eventually stumbling upon a charming corner adorned with vibrant bougainvillea and overlooking the harbor. It was indeed the perfect spot for a photo! Sofia struck a pose, and I captured a series of shots, each one more adorable than the last. It's moments like these that I cherish the most – seeing the world through my daughter's eyes, experiencing her joy and enthusiasm. I even managed to get Hans to pose for a few photos. He grumbled good-naturedly, but I could tell he was enjoying himself.

After our impromptu photoshoot, we decided to indulge in a bit of retail therapy. We popped into Feelings, a local shop known for its exquisite jewelry and unique fashion accessories. I'm always on the lookout for special souvenirs that capture the essence of a place, and Feelings did not disappoint. I found a beautiful handmade necklace with a delicate silver pendant shaped like an olive leaf. It was the perfect reminder of our time in Paxos, a symbol of the island's natural beauty and rich history. Sofia picked out a colorful bracelet, and Hans surprised me with a pair of elegant earrings. It was a lovely moment, a reminder of how much he appreciates my love for travel and exploration. For lunch, we headed to O Elias, a traditional taverna known for its authentic Greek cuisine. We started with a selection of classic mezes, including tzatziki, dolmades, and saganaki. Each dish was bursting with flavor, a testament to the fresh, local ingredients used. For our main courses, I opted for the grilled octopus, Hans chose the lamb chops, and Sofia devoured a plate of souvlaki. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the staff was attentive and friendly, and the food was simply divine. It was the perfect midday meal, a chance to refuel and recharge before continuing our exploration of Gaios.

In the late afternoon, we decided to treat ourselves to a drink at Romantica Café-bar. This charming café is located on the waterfront in Lakka, offering stunning views of the harbor. I ordered a refreshing mojito, Hans opted for a local beer, and Sofia sipped on a fruit smoothie. The atmosphere was relaxed and convivial, the perfect setting for an afternoon tipple. We sat and watched the boats bobbing in the harbor, soaking in the laid-back vibe of Paxos. Romantica Cafe Bar is probably one of the favorite places on the island for pre-dinner sundowners.

As the sun began to set, we made our way to Carnayo Gold Lounge Café for dinner. This elegant lounge bar is nestled on Mongonissi Bay, offering breathtaking views of the coastline. The atmosphere was sophisticated yet relaxed, the perfect setting for a memorable evening. We started with a selection of cocktails, each one expertly crafted and beautifully presented. For dinner, I chose the seafood risotto, Hans opted for the grilled fish, and Sofia devoured a plate of pasta. The food was exquisite, the service impeccable, and the ambiance simply magical. As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a golden glow over the bay, I couldn't help but feel grateful for this incredible experience. Dimitri is a prime example of Greek hospitality. The restaurant is the best place to enjoy the sunset in Paxos, the staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is very relaxed and romantic.

Tomorrow, we are planning to explore more of Paxos's natural beauty. Our itinerary includes a visit to Hafen ionische Insel, and Kamienne zejście do morza. We are also looking forward to trying Taverna Βασίλης, Λογγός Παξοί for breakfast, 4 Seasons Restaurant for lunch, and Mongonissi Beach for dinner. I'm particularly excited about visiting FANIS for a drink in the evening.

As I sit here reflecting on our day, I am filled with a sense of contentment and gratitude. Paxos has a way of capturing your heart, of slowing down time and allowing you to appreciate the simple things in life. It's a place where you can truly disconnect from the stresses of everyday life and reconnect with yourself, with your loved ones, and with the beauty of the world around you. I am so grateful for this opportunity to share this experience with my family, to create memories that will last a lifetime. And I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings! Maybe I'll even get to use that travel adapter I forgot to pack!
