Today was a day of pure exploration, a deep dive into the natural wonders that Con Dao Islands so generously offer. It’s days like these that remind me why I started this blog – to share the raw, unfiltered beauty of our world and to inspire others to seek out these moments of connection with nature. From soothing hot springs to dramatic coastal capes, Con Dao continues to surprise and enchant me.

My day began with a hearty breakfast at Infinity Cafe & Restaurant. The cafe had a charming retro vibe, and the elegant decor created a soothing atmosphere. I enjoyed a traditional Vietnamese coffee and a bánh mì, fueling up for the adventures that lay ahead. It's funny, even thousands of miles away from Toronto, the simple pleasure of a good coffee remains a constant. After breakfast, I made a quick stop at Hiệu Vin Store to pick up a few essentials. It's always good to have some snacks and water on hand when exploring, especially in a place as naturally diverse as Con Dao. The store had a decent selection, and I grabbed some local fruits and a couple of bottles of water.

My first destination was Bãi Suối Nóng, also known as Hot Springs Beach. The anticipation built as I made my way through the lush greenery, the air thick with humidity and the sounds of the jungle. The beach is a bit of a hidden gem, and I felt a sense of excitement as I approached it. What makes Bãi Suối Nóng truly unique is the presence of a natural hot spring, with the water source deep in the forest. The steam rising from the water created an ethereal, almost mystical atmosphere. The hot spring itself was a welcome surprise. The water wasn't scalding, but comfortably warm, offering a soothing contrast to the cool sea breeze. I dipped my feet in, feeling the tension melt away. The beach itself was stunning, with white sand stretching out to meet the turquoise waters. I took a leisurely stroll along the shore, letting the waves wash over my feet.

After Bãi Suối Nóng, I headed to Mũi Cá Mập, or Shark Cape. The name alone conjured up images of dramatic cliffs and rugged coastlines. The journey there was an adventure in itself, with winding roads offering breathtaking views of the coastline. As I arrived, I was immediately struck by the sheer beauty of the place. Mũi Cá Mập is a remote and rugged peninsula, where dramatic cliffs meet pristine beaches. The landscape was raw and untamed, a testament to nature's power. I spent a good hour simply wandering around, taking in the views from different vantage points. The waves crashed against the rocks, sending plumes of spray into the air. The wind carried the scent of salt and the sea, invigorating my senses.

For lunch, I stopped by Quán Én Tô, a local eatery known for its authentic Vietnamese cuisine. I ordered a bowl of Pho, the iconic Vietnamese noodle soup, and it was absolutely delicious. The broth was rich and flavorful, the noodles perfectly cooked, and the herbs fresh and fragrant. It was a simple meal, but it was incredibly satisfying, a true taste of Vietnam. It reminded me of the meals my mother used to make back in Naifaru, simple yet bursting with flavor.

As the sun began to set, I made my way to Kwai's Bistro Con Dao for dinner. The bistro had a charming ambiance, with both indoor and outdoor seating areas. I chose a table outside, wanting to enjoy the cool evening breeze. I ordered some seafood, grilled to perfection, and a glass of local beer. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was relaxed and convivial. It was the perfect way to end a day of exploration.

Reflecting on the day, I realized how much Con Dao had to offer. It's not just a place of stunning natural beauty, but also a place of rich culture and history. Back in Toronto, Aishath and Ibrahim are probably getting ready for bed. I miss them dearly, but I know this solo trip is something I needed. It's a chance to reconnect with myself and with nature, to recharge and find inspiration. And who knows, maybe next time, I'll bring them along to experience the magic of Con Dao together.
