It's days like these that remind me why I embarked on this solo adventure, seeking to connect with the world and its stories, one city at a time.

My Sunday began with a delightful breakfast at Agastache Restaurant. From what I've read, Agastache is known for its innovative approach to traditional French cuisine, and I was eager to experience it firsthand. The restaurant had a cozy, intimate atmosphere, perfect for a solo diner like myself. I savored every bite of my meal, appreciating the chef's attention to detail and the explosion of flavors in each dish. It was a great way to fuel up for a day of exploration.

With a satisfied stomach, I made my way to the Gallo-Roman Museum of Lyon-Fourvière. As a software developer, I'm naturally drawn to structures and systems, and the museum's design was fascinating. Built into the hillside, the entrance led me down a spiral ramp, as if descending into the depths of history itself. The museum houses a remarkable collection of artifacts from Lugdunum, the Roman name for Lyon. I was particularly impressed by the mosaics, intricate works of art that offered a glimpse into the lives of the people who lived here centuries ago. Seeing the Circus Mosaic, with its depiction of a four-horse chariot race, truly brought the past to life.

After immersing myself in history, I needed a breath of fresh air. The Parc des Hauteurs beckoned, promising panoramic views and a tranquil escape from the city bustle. The park is a vast urban site that connects several gardens and viewpoints on Fourvière hill. As I wandered along the paths, I discovered hidden gems like the Jardin du Rosaire and the Promenade de la Sarra. The highlight was the Passerelle des Quatre Vents, a bridge offering a unique perspective on the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière. The crisp March air and the stunning scenery made for a refreshing interlude.

In the afternoon, I decided to indulge in some retail therapy at Confluence, a modern shopping center located at the tip of Lyon's peninsula. As someone who spends much of his time coding, I appreciate the clean lines and innovative design of the complex. Confluence boasts a wide array of shops, from clothing stores to electronics retailers. I enjoyed browsing the various offerings, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere. Though I didn't buy much, the experience was a welcome change of pace.

From what I've read, PRAIRIAL doesn't have a set menu, instead offering dishes that change daily based on the freshest seasonal ingredients. The restaurant's commitment to local suppliers and its focus on environmental responsibility resonated with my own values.

As I prepare for tomorrow's exploration of the Musée Lumière and the Quais de Saône, I am filled with anticipation for what new wonders this city will reveal. I’m also looking forward to trying out Restaurant Léo de Lyon for breakfast, L'acteur - Bouchon Lyonnais for lunch, and La Table d'Eugène for dinner. And perhaps, I’ll end the day with a drink at L'Officine.
