After months of planning, the day had finally arrived: our family adventure in the Dades Valley was officially underway! Leaving the familiar landscapes of Switzerland behind, we embarked on a journey into the heart of Morocco, a land brimming with vibrant culture, breathtaking scenery, and warm hospitality. As a librarian specializing in historical archives, I was particularly excited to delve into the rich history and traditions of this region, while also creating lasting memories with Hans and Sophie.

The flight to Marrakech was smooth, and the energy of the city was immediately palpable. After picking up our rental car, we set off on the scenic drive towards the Dades Valley. Lunchtime found us at Restaurant Fatima Berber, a charming establishment nestled in the heart of the Dades Gorges. Looking ahead to tomorrow, we're planning to explore the Monkey Fingers Canyon and Chemin du Canyon.
