Today was a day of contrasts, blending the serenity of ancient monasteries with the laid-back vibes of Paros's beautiful beaches. It’s amazing how much history and natural beauty this island holds. I was looking forward to a day of reflection and exploration, and Paros certainly delivered.

Our day began with a hearty breakfast at Nice to meat you. The name is definitely a conversation starter, and the food was just as memorable. I opted for a traditional Greek breakfast, while David went for something a bit more adventurous. Jasmine, of course, stuck with her usual pancakes. It's funny how even in a new country, some habits just stick. Fuelled up for the day, we set off to explore some of Paros's more spiritual sites.

Our first stop was the Monastery of St. John's of Deti. Nestled near Naoussa, this monastery has a fascinating history, dating back to the 16th century. It was abandoned during Ottoman rule but later restored by a Dutch artist in the 1960s. The views from the monastery were simply breathtaking, overlooking the bay of Naoussa and the Aegean Sea. Jasmine, ever the budding photographer, was in her element, snapping away at the blue-domed roof and the scenic surroundings.

After soaking in the tranquility of St. John's, we decided to head to Agios Spyridonas Beach. This beach is known for its shallow, crystalline waters, making it perfect for families. Jasmine loved splashing around in the sea, while David and I relaxed on the shore, taking in the panoramic views of Paros. The beach was relatively quiet, offering a peaceful escape from the busier tourist spots. I made a mental note to remember to pack beach towels next time; we completely forgot them! We spent a good few hours soaking up the sun and enjoying the calm waters. It was exactly the kind of relaxation we needed after a few days of non-stop sightseeing.

Next on our list was the Monastery Logovarda. This monastery, founded in 1638, is dedicated to Zoodohos Pighi, meaning the life-giving source. It's a male monastery, so David was the only one allowed to enter, while Jasmine and I explored the grounds outside. David was impressed by the wall paintings and valuable icons inside the main church. He also mentioned the library, which houses rare manuscripts and books. It’s incredible to think about the history and knowledge contained within those walls.

Before dinner, we had a bit of time for shopping, so we stopped by Pragmata Concept Store. This store is a treasure trove of unique items for the home, carefully selected from around the world. The owners, an Italian family who have made Paros their second home, have a keen eye for style and originality. I found a beautiful ceramic bowl that I couldn't resist, and Jasmine picked out a funky new bracelet. It's always nice to find a little something to remind us of our travels.

For dinner, we decided to try Cuore Rosso, an Italian restaurant known for its authentic pizzas. The courtyard setting was charming, with plants and soft lighting creating a relaxed atmosphere. We ordered a couple of pizzas to share, and they were absolutely delicious. The crust was perfectly crispy, and the toppings were fresh and flavorful. It was a nice change of pace from the traditional Greek cuisine we'd been enjoying, and it was a hit with everyone, especially Jasmine.

As the day wound down, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the experiences we'd had. Paros has a way of captivating you with its blend of history, spirituality, and natural beauty. It's a place where you can find peace and adventure in equal measure. I am also very grateful that I get to spend these moments with my family, as it makes the experiences even more memorable.

Looking ahead to tomorrow, we're planning to explore the Hellenistic Sculpture Workshop and Saint Anna Square. We'll also check out Xifara Dock and maybe grab a drink at Fotis All Day Bar. I'm excited to see what new adventures await us. Until then, goodnight from Paros!

P.S. I almost forgot to mention our lunch! We had a delightful meal at Tomortari family-Restaurant. The food was incredible, and the atmosphere was so welcoming. It felt like we were dining with family. I highly recommend trying their local cuisine; you won't be disappointed!
