Driving
To reach Bald Rock, navigate to Cheaha State Park [3]. From I-20, east of Anniston, take exit 191 and merge onto US 431 S [7]. Follow US 431 for 3.8 miles and turn right onto CR 131 [7]. In .6 mile, turn left onto AL 281 S, the Skyway Motorway, also known as the Talladega Scenic Byway [7]. Follow AL 281 for 12.5 miles and turn right into Cheaha State Park and onto Bunker Loop [7]. In 1.1 miles Bald Rock Lodge will be on the right and immediately afterward, the parking lot for the Bald Rock/Doug Ghee Boardwalk and Trail [7, 8]. Park entrance fees are $5 for adults (ages 12+), $2 for children (ages 4-11) and seniors (62+), free for children under 4 and veterans/active military with ID [14, 18, 20]. Annual passes are available for purchase at the Mountain Store [18].
Walking
From the Bald Rock parking area, the overlook is easily accessible via the Doug Ghee Accessible Trail, a 0.3-mile boardwalk [3, 6, 7, 10]. The boardwalk is wheelchair accessible and features benches and interpretive signs [6, 7, 10]. Multiple side trails branch off from the boardwalk, offering more wooded views of the area [7, 8].
