Hi, I'm Eve. Here are a few practical things to know before exploring Gulf State Park.
Local know-how to help you travel smarter and make the most of every moment.
Driving
From Gulf Shores, head east on Highway 182 (Perdido Beach Blvd). Continue for approximately 6 miles. The Gulf State Park Beach Pavilion will be on your right. Parking is $10 per day for personal vehicles [2, 4]. Alternatively, from Orange Beach, head west on Highway 182. The park is easily accessible from both directions. Note that parking is enforced at all beach access points [3, 8].
Walking
If you are staying in accommodations near the beach in Gulf Shores or Orange Beach, accessing the park's beach areas is possible via the shoreline. Be aware of the distance and weather conditions. Once on the beach, you can access various park amenities. The Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail also has multiple trailheads surrounding the park's perimeter [4].
Public Transport
While public transportation options directly to Gulf State Park are limited, the Baldwin County Connector provides some service in the area. Check their routes and schedules for the closest drop-off point, and then proceed to the park entrance by walking or taxi/rideshare. Fares vary depending on distance.
