D.A.R.E. Power Park is a 30-acre day-use facility located on the eastern side of Lake Martin in Jacksons' Gap, Alabama [3, 6, 8]. Developed in 1997 by Alabama Power in cooperation with the local community, the park's name was the winning entry in a contest among students from four Tallapoosa County schools participating in the Drug Awareness Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program [3, 8]. The park boasts a variety of amenities, including a white sandy beach, two fishing piers, a playground, and an amphitheater [3, 6, 7, 14].
