Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start at the center of Cotton Bayou. Head south on AL-59 S/Gulf Shores Pkwy. Continue on Gulf Shores Pkwy for approximately 7 miles. Wade Ward Nature Park will be on your right at 500 Gulf Shores Pkwy, Gulf Shores, AL 36542. There is free parking available on-site.

• Public Transportation

  Public transportation options may be limited in Cotton Bayou. However, you can check for local shuttle services or bus routes that operate in the Gulf Shores area. If available, take the bus towards Gulf Shores. Get off at the nearest stop to Gulf Shores Pkwy. From there, it may be a short walk (about 10-15 minutes) to reach Wade Ward Nature Park. Be sure to confirm the bus schedule and routes as they can vary.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike at local shops in Cotton Bayou. Follow the same route as for cars, cycling along AL-59 S/Gulf Shores Pkwy. Be cautious of traffic as this is a busy road. Wade Ward Nature Park will be on your right after approximately 7 miles. There are bike racks available for parking.

• Walking

  Walking from Cotton Bayou to Wade Ward Nature Park is not recommended due to the distance (approximately 7 miles) and the lack of pedestrian-friendly paths along busy roads. If you choose to walk, ensure you have adequate provisions and take a safer route through residential areas, keeping in mind it will take a few hours.
