The Wilbourne Antique Rose Trail, also known as the City of Foley Antique Rose Trail, offers a unique blend of natural beauty and local history in the heart of Foley, Alabama. Opened in 2007, the one-mile trail follows the path of the former Louisville and Nashville Railroad, which played a vital role in Foley's development.The trail features over 5,000 antique roses, carefully selected for their hardiness and fragrance. These aren't your typical modern roses; they're heritage varieties that evoke memories of old-fashioned gardens. Each rose is labeled with its name and propagation date, and the trail is planted in chronological order, offering a living lesson in rose history.As you stroll along the asphalt-covered path, you'll find benches and gazebos perfect for resting and taking in the scenery. The trail winds through downtown Foley, passing by landmarks like the Depot Museum, Heritage Park, and John B. Foley Park.
