Getting There

• Walking

  If you are in the central area of Gulf Shores, start by heading east on Gulf Shores Parkway (AL-59). Continue straight for about 1.5 miles until you reach the traffic light at the intersection with Oak Road East. Turn right onto Oak Road East and walk for about 0.5 miles. You will see the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo on your right at 20499 Oak Rd E. The zoo entrance is clearly marked, and there is a parking area if you need to inform someone who may come to pick you up.

• Bicycle

  For those who prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Gulf Shores. Begin your ride headed east on Gulf Shores Parkway (AL-59) for about 1.5 miles. When you reach the intersection with Oak Road East, take a right. Continue cycling for another 0.5 miles, and you’ll arrive at the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo located on your right at 20499 Oak Rd E. There are bike racks available for you to lock your bike outside the zoo.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, check with the local transit service for the nearest bus stop. The closest stop to the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo is located along Gulf Shores Parkway (AL-59). You will need to get on a bus heading northbound. After a few stops, get off at the stop nearest to Oak Road East. From there, it's about a 10-minute walk. Head east on Gulf Shores Parkway, turn right onto Oak Road East, and walk for about 0.5 miles to reach the zoo located at 20499 Oak Rd E.
