Getting There

  • Bicycle

    Start at the Gulf Shores Public Beach, located at 101 Gulf Shores Pkwy, Gulf Shores, AL. Head north on Gulf Shores Parkway (AL-59) for about 3 miles until you reach the intersection with County Road 20. Turn left onto County Road 20 and continue for approximately 5 miles. You will pass through the small town of Elberta. After you pass Elberta, look for signs directing you to Bamahenge. The attraction is located on the right side of County Road 20. Follow the path to the parking area.

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Gulf State Park, exit the park and head towards East 2nd Avenue. Turn left and walk towards the Gulf Shores Parkway (AL-59). Cross over to the north side of the parkway and head north for about 3 miles until you reach the intersection with County Road 20. Turn left onto County Road 20. Continue walking for about 5 miles, passing through Elberta. Bamahenge will be on your right after you pass the Elberta area. Be sure to stay on the pedestrian path for safety.

    From the Gulf Shores Public Beach, catch the Wave Transit bus service that runs along the Gulf Shores Parkway (AL-59). Get off at the stop near the intersection with County Road 20. From there, you can either walk for about 5 miles to Bamahenge or check if there's any local taxi or rideshare service available to take you the remaining distance. Bamahenge is located on the right side of County Road 20. Make sure to plan your return trip accordingly.
