Driving
From Mentone, AL, head north on AL-117 N/AL-48 W. Turn left onto County Road 613. Continue on County Road 613 until it dead-ends into DeSoto Falls Road. The DeSoto Falls Picnic Area, where the A. A. Miller Dam is located, will be on your left. Be aware that GPS may be unreliable in this area. Parking at the DeSoto Falls Picnic Area costs $4.00 per vehicle. Limited parking spaces are available, and the area often fills to capacity on weekends.
Walking
If already within DeSoto State Park near the Country Store, follow DeSoto Parkway north towards Mentone. After a few miles, turn left onto County Road 613. Continue until it dead-ends into DeSoto Falls Road. The DeSoto Falls Picnic Area, where the A. A. Miller Dam is located, will be on your left. This is a significant walk, so ensure you are prepared for the distance. Remember to account for the $4.00 parking fee if you decide to drive into the picnic area after walking.
