Discover more about Orange Beach Waterfront Park

Orange Beach Waterfront Park is a captivating destination that seamlessly blends natural beauty with recreational amenities, making it a must-visit spot on the Alabama Gulf Coast. Situated on the picturesque Wolf Bay, the park offers a diverse range of activities and attractions for visitors of all ages. Originally purchased in the late 1990s, the park has evolved into a cherished community space, hosting everything from family reunions to art festivals. Its central feature is the impressive 400-foot pier, meticulously rebuilt after Hurricane Sally caused significant damage in September 2020 and reopened in late December 2022. The pier provides unparalleled access to Wolf Bay, making it a prime spot for fishing, crabbing, or simply soaking in the tranquil atmosphere. The city of Orange Beach added 24 disk reefs to help attract more fish to the area. Wooden benches on the pier offer comfortable seating for relaxing and enjoying the views. For families with children, the Edward H. Carroll, Sr. Kids Park playground is a major draw. Renovated in late 2021, the playground features modern equipment designed to stimulate creativity and physical activity. The park also includes picnic shelters with grills, restrooms, and a paved walking path, making it ideal for a day of outdoor fun. Waterfront Park is often used for events and special celebrations such as weddings and birthday parties. Orange Beach was originally settled in the late 1860s, with the western portion of the present town being known as Orange Beach. The area was also known for farming, which is how Orange Beach got its name, as orange groves were once common on the Alabama coast. The completion of the Intracoastal Waterway in 1937 and the opening of Gulf State Park in 1939 played a crucial role in attracting visitors to the area. Waterfront Park stands as a testament to the city's commitment to providing public access to its beautiful waterfront.
