Driving
Dismals Canyon is located at 901 County Road 8, Phil Campbell, AL 35581. From Russellville, Alabama, take US-43/AL-17 south towards Hamilton. Turn right onto County Road 8. The canyon will be on your right. Parking is free, but the lot is small and can fill up quickly, especially on weekends. If the lot is full, you may have to park along the road.

Walking
From the parking area, a short trail leads to the visitor's center and country store, where you'll need to register and pay the admission fee. From there, the entrance to the canyon floor is down a series of stairs. Be prepared for a steep descent. Once on the canyon floor, the 1.5-mile loop trail is well-marked. Follow the trail to experience the highlights of Dismals Canyon.
