Getting There

  • Public Transport

    From Tirana, take a bus to Bajram Curri. Buses leave from the 'Bashkia' bus station and the journey takes around 4 hours. From Bajram Curri, catch a local minibus or taxi to Valbona. The minibus ride takes about 1 hour and costs around 500 ALL.

  • Ferry and Minibus

    Take a minibus from Shkoder to Koman Lake. The minibus leaves from the Rozafa Hotel. From Koman Lake, take the ferry to Fierze. The ferry ride takes about 2.5-3 hours. From Fierze, take a minibus to Valbona. This takes about 1 hour.

  • Car

    From Tirana, take the SH1 road heading north. After reaching the junction near Bajram Curri, take the left onto SH24. Continue on SH24 for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the Valbona Valley National Park entrance. Be prepared for winding mountain roads.

Valbona Valley National Park, often called the 'Gem of Albania,' is a protected area encompassing 80 square kilometers of the Albanian Alps. The park's boundaries border Kosovo to the northeast and Montenegro to the northwest.
