Travel Guide to King Mosque, Elbasan

Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, head towards Elbasan from the nearest major city, such as Tirana. Take the SH2 highway towards Elbasan. Once you reach Elbasan, follow the signs for the city center. As you approach the center, look for Rruga Xhaferr Kongoli. The King Mosque is located at Rruga Xhaferr Kongoli 12, easily accessible with parking options available nearby.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  To reach Elbasan using public transportation, take a bus from Tirana’s main bus terminal (Ndroq). Buses to Elbasan run frequently, with a travel time of approximately 1-1.5 hours. Once you arrive at the Elbasan bus station, exit the station and walk towards the city center. From there, you can either walk or take a local taxi to Rruga Xhaferr Kongoli 12. The mosque is a short walk from the bus station, approximately 15-20 minutes on foot.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct route, you can also take a taxi from the Elbasan bus station to the King Mosque. This will cost you around 500-700 Lek (around $5-$7 USD) and will take about 5-10 minutes, depending on traffic.

• Walking

  If you are already in the Elbasan city center, walking is a great option. From the main square, head southeast on Rruga e Dajlani, then turn left onto Rruga Xhaferr Kongoli. The King Mosque will be on your right at number 12. The total walking distance is about 1 kilometer, which should take around 12-15 minutes.
