Getting there

Walking

From the village of Strëmbec, the waterfall is approximately a 2-hour walk. Follow the well-marked path leading towards the base of Mount Nemërçkë. The trail offers scenic views of the surrounding landscape. Ensure you have appropriate footwear for the hike.

Public Transport

From Delvina, take a local bus towards Saranda. Get off at the stop near Strëmbec. From there, you can walk approximately 3 km to Ujëvara e Sopotit. Alternatively, hire a local taxi from Strëmbec to the waterfall; confirm the fare beforehand, which should be around 500-1000 Albanian Lek.

Taxi

From Përmet, a taxi can be hired to reach Ujëvara e Sopotit. Negotiate the fare before starting the journey. The cost should be around 4,000 to 6,000 ALL one way. The taxi will take you directly to Ujëvara e Sopotit, approximately a 1-hour drive from Toskëria.

Ujëvara e Sopotit, or Sopot Waterfall, is a stunning natural wonder located south of Përmet, Albania, near the village of Strëmbec. The waterfall is situated at the foot of Mount Nemërçkë, which rises to 2,485 meters above sea level. The cascade itself is approximately 20 meters high and is fed by the glacial waters of Mount Nemërçkë.The journey to the waterfall is an experience in itself, with a trail that winds through the picturesque landscape. The hike offers breathtaking views of Mount Nemërçkë and the surrounding glacial terrain. The waterfall circuit is about 2 kilometers long and 600 meters wide, making it ideal for hiking and nature exploration. At the end of the trail, visitors are rewarded with the sight of the Sopot Waterfall, a tranquil spot to relax and immerse themselves in the beauty of nature.
