Clock Tower of Korçë: A Symbol of Time and History

Rising adjacent to the Mirahori Mosque, the Clock Tower of Korçë is more than just a time-telling structure; it's a symbol of the city's resilience and historical blend. The original tower, constructed in 1784, was a collaborative effort between the local Muslim and Orthodox Christian communities. This unique partnership saw Muslims building the tower while Orthodox Christians provided the clock and its base, showcasing a spirit of cooperation. However, a devastating earthquake in 1960 destroyed the tower and its clock. The current clock tower is a faithful reconstruction completed in 2016, standing 17 meters high.
