The Cloud: Tirana's Modern Art Installation

The Cloud, or 'Reja' as it is known locally, stands as a captivating piece of modern art in the heart of Tirana, Albania. Designed by the acclaimed Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto, this installation has become a symbol of the city's contemporary identity. Since its arrival in 2016, The Cloud has served as a dynamic venue for cultural events and a unique public space for both locals and tourists. Originally created for the Serpentine Gallery in London in 2013, The Cloud found its permanent home in front of Tirana's National Gallery of Arts. The structure is crafted from a delicate network of white steel rods, forming a semi-transparent, irregular canopy that evokes the form of a cloud. The Cloud spans approximately 541 square meters, with a maximum height of 7 meters.
