Ujëvara e Shën Gjergjit (St. George's Waterfall) is a captivating natural attraction located approximately 37 kilometers east of Tirana, near the village of Shëngjergj. Car
If driving from Tirana, take the road towards Shëngjergj. The journey typically takes about one hour. Pass through Farkë, Surrel, and Shkallë. Upon reaching Shëngjergj, park near Restorant Ujvara Shëngjergj. The trailhead to the waterfall is near a bridge adjacent to the restaurant. Parking is available near the entrance. There are no tolls on this route. Parking is generally free but can be limited during peak season.
Public Transport
To reach Ujëvara e Shën Gjergjit from Tirana via public transport, catch the 15A bus to Kino Studio for 40 lek. Then, transfer to a van heading to Shëngjergj for an additional 200 lek one way. Buses leave at 7 AM, 10 AM, 2 PM, and 4 PM in both directions. Remember that it's a cash-only system, and payments are made on the bus.
Walking
Once you arrive near the Restorant Ujvara Shëngjergj, the hike to the waterfall is relatively easy, covering approximately 1.5 kilometers with an elevation gain of 56 meters. It can be completed in about 20 minutes. The path is marked with red and white signs, making navigation straightforward.
