Getting There

  • Walking

    Start your journey at the Gjirokastër Castle, one of the city's main attractions. From the castle entrance, walk down the main road (Rruga Mbreti Zogu) towards the city center. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Rruga 28 Nëntori. Turn left onto Rruga 28 Nëntori and continue straight until you reach the bus station (Stacioni i Autobusëve).

    At the Gjirokastër bus station, look for a bus heading towards Tepelenë. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they will stop near Petran, as some buses may not go directly there. The bus ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Inform the driver to drop you off at the stop nearest to Petran.

    Once you arrive at the bus stop in Petran, disembark and start walking towards the Vjosa River. Head southeast following the main road (Rruga e Vjosës). As you walk, keep an eye out for signs directing you to the river. The journey from the bus stop to the riverbank is about 1-2 kilometers and will take approximately 20-30 minutes on foot.
