Discover more about The Cloud

The Cloud, also known as Reja, is a mesmerizing art installation located in front of the National Gallery of Arts in Tirana, Albania. Designed by Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto, it was originally commissioned for the Serpentine Gallery in London in 2013 and later moved to Tirana in 2016. This architectural marvel resembles a giant, ethereal cloud, constructed from a delicate network of white steel bars. The structure covers 350 square meters and reaches a height of 7 meters, creating a semi-transparent canopy that provides shelter while allowing visitors to remain connected to the surrounding landscape. Visitors are encouraged to interact with the artwork, climbing on top or finding a seat underneath, offering a unique perspective of the city. The Cloud serves as a modern art space, hosting various cultural events and exhibitions, making it a vibrant hub for both locals and tourists. During the warm summer evenings, The Cloud transforms into an atmospheric stage for musicians and theater performances. The installation has become a symbol of Tirana's evolving identity, blending modern innovation with the city's rich heritage. The pavilion is intended as a free social space, a transparent ground, a delicate structure, three-dimensional and each unit is made up of steel rods. A series of stepped terraces provide seating areas that allow the Pavilion to be used as a flexible, multi-purpose social space.
