Getting There
Walking
From Himarë, walk south along the bay towards Potami Beach. Continue past Oniro by Iliria Palace Hotel, following the paved path that curves around the headland. At the top, a dirt trail leads through bushes to the descent point. The final descent to Filikuri Beach involves a steep, rocky scramble, aided by a rope. Wear sturdy shoes. This hike takes approximately one hour from Himarë. There is no cost for walking to the beach.
Public Transport
From the main bus station in Himarë, take a local bus heading towards Dhërmi or Jale Beach. Ask the driver to drop you off at the stop for Filikuri Beach. From the bus stop, it's a 5-10 minute walk down a dirt path to the beach. Bus fare is approximately €8 from Saranda and €12 from Tirana. Confirm the drop-off location with the driver.
Taxi
Taxis are available throughout Himarë. A taxi to the vicinity of Filikuri Beach costs approximately €10-€15, depending on your starting location. Confirm the price with the driver before starting the trip. From the taxi drop-off point, there is still a short walk to the beach involving the final descent.
Driving
From the center of Himarë, drive south on the SH8 road along the coast. Follow signs for Filikuri Beach. Park near Potami Beach. Limited street parking is available along Potami Beach. From the parking area, walk along the path towards the headland and continue on the trail to Filikuri Beach. Parking may cost around 2-5 EUR per day.
Boat/Kayak
Rent a kayak from Himarë's promenade or Potami Beach. Kayak rentals start from €5 per hour. Alternatively, arrange a water taxi from Himarë for around €10 per person. Some boat trips along the Albanian Riviera also include a stop at Filikuri. The boat or kayak will drop you directly at Filikuri Beach.
