Skanderbeg Square, named after Albania's national hero, Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu, is the main plaza in the center of Tirana. A vibrant public space and a significant cultural and historical landmark, the square is dominated by the Skanderbeg Monument and surrounded by prominent buildings like the National History Museum, Et'hem Bey Mosque, and the Clock Tower.

Walking
Skanderbeg Square is centrally located and easily accessible on foot from most points in downtown Tirana. From the National Art Gallery, walk west along Dëshmorët e Kombit Boulevard, and the square will be directly ahead. Allow approximately 10-15 minutes. No costs involved.
Public Transport
Tirana has an extensive bus network. Several bus lines stop near Skanderbeg Square. From Tirana East Gate (TEG), take Bus Line 2 or 8 towards the city center. Ask the driver to let you off near Skanderbeg Square. From the bus stop on the northern edge of the square, buses with signs saying “Kamez” also stop there. A single bus fare costs 40 lek (approximately €0.40).
Taxi
Taxis are readily available throughout Tirana. A taxi ride from the Train Station to Skanderbeg Square typically takes around 5-10 minutes, depending on traffic. Expect to pay around 500-700 lek (€5-€7).
