Discover more about Rinia Park

Rinia Park, or Youth Park, is a cherished green space in the heart of Tirana, Albania. Established in 1950 during the communist era, the park spans 2.98 hectares (7.4 acres) and has evolved into a popular destination for relaxation and recreation.Originally designed as a serene family park, it quickly became a favorite spot for Tirana's youth, earning it the nickname "Taiwan". Over the years, Rinia Park has undergone transformations, including a period after the fall of communism when unauthorized structures sprung up around the park. A cleanup initiative in 2000 removed these buildings, restoring the park to its natural landscape.A notable feature is the distinctive white, terraced building on the western edge, often compared to a James Bond villain's lair. This structure houses cafes, restaurants, the Regency Casino, and a bowling alley. The park also hosts cultural events, including the annual Summer Festival on March 14th, celebrating the arrival of spring. Today, Rinia Park offers walking paths, playgrounds, art sculptures, and a vibrant atmosphere for all.
