Kulla e Sahatit, or the Clock Tower, is a prominent historical landmark in Tirana, Albania, situated on the eastern edge of Skanderbeg Square, next to the Et'hem Bey Mosque. Constructed in 1822 during the Ottoman era, it was commissioned by Et'hem Bey, who also built the adjacent mosque. The tower symbolized progress and civic pride at the time of its construction. Standing at 35 meters (115 feet), the tower was once the tallest structure in Tirana. Its architectural features include a square stone base built with local limestone and a cylindrical tower topped with a dome-shaped roof and a viewing balcony. The tower has undergone several changes throughout its history, including the installation of a German-made clock mechanism in 1928 and a modern clock system in 1970. It was also restored after sustaining damage during World War II. Visitors can climb the 90-step spiral staircase inside the tower to reach the top, where they are rewarded with panoramic views of Skanderbeg Square, the Et'hem Bey Mosque, the National Museum, the Opera House, and Mount Dajti in the distance.
