Walking
From the center of Berat (e.g., Bulevardi Republika), the castle is a steep uphill walk of approximately 30-45 minutes. Follow signs towards 'Kalaja' or 'Castle'. The path winds through the Mangalem quarter, offering picturesque views. Be prepared for cobblestone streets and some uneven terrain. There are no costs associated with walking up to the castle entrance.
Taxi
Taxis are readily available in Berat's city center. A taxi ride to the entrance of Berat Castle from Bulevardi Republika typically costs between 500-700 Lekë. Agree on the fare with the driver before starting the journey. The ride takes around 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic.
Driving
Driving to Berat Castle is possible, but parking near the entrance is limited and can be challenging, especially during peak season. Follow signs towards 'Kalaja'. Be aware that the roads leading to the castle are narrow and winding. Parking, if available, costs approximately 200 Lekë per hour.
