Getting There

  • Car

    From Dhërmi or Himarë, drive to the Gjipe Beach parking area. A 2WD vehicle can get you close, but the final stretch requires a 20-minute hike. Parking costs 400 LEK (4 EUR) for the day or 600 LEK (6 EUR) for overnight. A 4WD vehicle can drive directly to the beach, but it is only recommended for experienced drivers.

  • Bus

    Take a bus from Tirana, Vlore, or Sarande to Dhermi or Himara. From there, take a short taxi ride to the Gjipe trailhead. A one-way bus ticket from Tirana to Dhermi costs 1,000-1,500 LEK. Check bus schedules in advance.

  • Boat/Water Taxi

    In Himarë, a water taxi service operates throughout the summer. A return journey to Gjipe Beach costs €20 per person. You can also find boat tours departing from Dhërmi and Jalë.

  • Walking

    From the Gjipe Beach parking lot, hike down to the beach. The hike is approximately 2.5 km and takes 30-45 minutes. The path is marked but can be slippery during wet weather, so wear proper footwear.
