Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Tepelenë, start at the main square (Sheshi i Tepelenës). Head southeast on Rruga e Dajlës for about 300 meters until you reach the intersection with Rruga Mbreti Zog. Turn left onto Rruga Mbreti Zog and continue for approximately 1 kilometer until you reach the bus station (Stacioni i Autobusëve) located near the river. Here, you can catch a bus heading towards Frashër. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they stop at Frashër, which is the closest village to Fir of Hotova-Dangëlli National Park. The bus ride will take about 30 minutes. Once in Frashër, you can follow the signs or ask locals for directions to the entrance of the national park, which is approximately 1 kilometer from the bus drop-off point.

  • Biking

    If you prefer biking, you can rent a bicycle in Tepelenë. Start from the central square, head southeast along Rruga e Dajlës, and then take a left onto Rruga Mbreti Zog. Follow this road for about 1 kilometer to reach the bus station, where you can also find local shops for any last-minute supplies. Continue past the bus station on the main road (Rruga Tepelenë-Frashër) for about 8 kilometers until you reach Frashër. The route is scenic and you will enjoy beautiful views of the valley. Once you reach Frashër, follow the directions provided earlier to get to the national park entrance.

  • Hiking

    For the adventurous, you can hike to Fir of Hotova-Dangëlli National Park. Start your journey from Tepelenë and head towards the hills in the direction of Frashër. Take Rruga e Dajlës up into the hills, where you will find trails leading toward the park. This is a more challenging route and will require good physical fitness and proper hiking gear. Make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks, as well as a map or GPS device to help navigate. The hike is approximately 10 kilometers and may take several hours, depending on your pace. Be prepared for stunning views of the surrounding landscape as you make your way to Frashër.
