    From the Jardin d'Essai du Hamma, walk west along Rue Mohamed Belouizdad, then turn left onto Boulevard Colonel Krim Belkacem. The museum will be on your right. The walk is approximately 1.5 km and should take about 20 minutes. There are no tolls or special transport tickets required.

    From the Tafourah - Grande Poste Metro station, take bus line 5 to the Musée National des Antiquités stop on Boulevard Colonel Krim Belkacem. The bus fare is approximately 50 DZD. The museum is a short walk from the bus stop.

The museum is divided into two main sections: Antiquities and Islamic Art. The Antiquities section features an impressive collection of mosaics, sculptures, coins, medals, and artifacts made of bronze, ivory, bone, ceramics, and wood from Algeria's pre-Islamic era. The Islamic Art section, established in 1854, showcases treasures from Algeria and beyond, including Ottoman-era embroidery, ceramics, jewelry, weapons, and manuscripts that highlight North African craftsmanship. The museum has moved several times before settling in the Park of Liberty. The Islamic Art collection received its own dedicated space in 2003, and a numismatic collection was inaugurated in a reading room in 2006.
