To reach Djebel Chélia using public transport, take a bus from Khenchela to Bouhmama. Buses run frequently, and the journey takes approximately 45 minutes. From Bouhmama, you can either walk 8km to the Djebel Chélia trailhead or hire a local taxi. Negotiate the fare with the driver before starting; a taxi ride should cost around 500 DZD. The bus fare from Khenchela to Bouhmama typically costs around 200 DZD.

If driving, start from Bouhmama city center and drive northeast on National Road N1 for about 10 kilometers. Watch for signs to Djebel Chélia and turn right into the mountains. Follow the road for approximately 15 kilometers until you reach the base of Djebel Chélia. Be aware that the road may become narrow and winding. A small parking area is available at the base. Note that the last few kilometers may be on a less maintained road, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended.
