Opened on July 5, 1982, the 20th anniversary of Algeria's independence, the memorial stands as a powerful symbol of national pride and resilience. Designed by Algerian architect Bachir Yellès, in collaboration with Polish engineers, the monument consists of three stylized palm leaves that join mid-height, sheltering the "Eternal Flame" beneath.
