The summit is crowned by a white structure, the Marabout of Azrou n'Thor, a site of religious significance. Each year, particularly during the first three weekends of August, Azrou n'Thor attracts hundreds, even thousands, of visitors from across the country who come to participate in the traditional festival known as "Assensi bwazrou n'Thor". This festival involves a procession to the summit, with different villages taking turns to organize and guide the ascent. The pilgrimage combines hiking with the discovery of the region, and there's even a spring called "Vili" where hikers can refresh themselves before the final climb. The area is known for its natural beauty, offering hiking trails through lush forests and mountains. The diverse ecosystems are home to unique flora and fauna, making it a haven for birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts. Bus
From Tizi Ouzou, go to the Gare Routière (bus station) in the town center. Take a bus toward Illilten; they typically depart every hour. The ride takes 30-40 minutes. Once in Illilten, ask locals for directions to Azrou n'Thor, a short walk from the bus stop.

If you're in Illilten, you can hike to Azrou n'Thor. Start at the bus stop and head north toward the mountains, following trail signs. The hike is relatively easy, taking approximately 1-2 hours.

From M'sila, which is approximately 40 km away, take the N8 road east towards Illilten. Follow the signs for Illilten and continue driving until you reach the coordinates F9QQ+MG9. The drive should take around 45 minutes. There is no toll on this route. Upon arrival, you can park your car nearby.
