The Remains of Mansura, located in Mansourah near Tlemcen, Algeria, offer a captivating journey into the past. The city boasted a palace, a mosque, and various amenities, all enclosed within formidable walls. Today, visitors can explore the remnants of this once-great city, including the well-preserved northern and western ramparts and the striking minaret of the Mansura Mosque. The walls, reaching approximately four meters in height, once enclosed an area of 100 hectares. The mosque, constructed around 1303, features a square courtyard and walls made of pink siliceous stone. The towering minaret, standing at 38 meters, showcases Almohad architectural influences. While much of Mansura was abandoned and partially destroyed following the Marinids' departure, its ruins continue to evoke a sense of its former grandeur.
