Ferry
The most common way to reach Tau Island is by ferry from Tutuila, the main island of American Samoa. The MV Manu'atele makes regular trips to the Manu'a Islands every other week, departing from Pago Pago. The one-way fare is approximately $30 for adults and $15 for students. Check the Water Transportation Division for the most up-to-date schedule and booking information. From the Faleasao Harbor on Tau, local taxis or pre-arranged transportation with your accommodation can take you to your final destination.
Flight
Flights to Tau Island are available to Fitiuta Airport (FTI). Inter Island Airways is planning direct air service between Pago Pago and Ofu Airport, and between Ofu and Tau Islands. Once you arrive at Fitiuta Airport, ground transportation is limited. It's best to arrange transportation with your accommodation in advance. Local residents may also offer taxi services.
