Walking
From the Escaldes-Engordany Tourist Office, walk up the street along the pavement to Font del Metge, which has thermal water. Turn right onto the cobbled streets and follow the "Camí de la Muntanya" sign to begin ascending. Follow the path, crossing the La Comella road carefully, and continue along the track parallel to the River Madriu towards the Bordes d'Entremesaigües. Cross the bridge and enter the Claror Valley. From here, the hike to Refugi de Claror is approximately 2-3 hours with a climb of 980-1040 meters.
Public Transport
From Andorra la Vella, take the Andorra la Vella Comunal bus, line LS, to the penitentiary center. From there, walk approximately 2 kilometers along the road until you find the entrance to the Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley behind the Comella snack. Follow the path up to Prat Primer through Riguer, passing through Cortal de la Plana. From Prat Primer, take the steep path to Refugi de Prat Primer, which leads to the valley and onto Claror. Alternatively, take the Cooperativa Interurbana Andorrana bus, line 2, from Andorra la Vella to Encamp. From Encamp, take the Funicamp funicular. After the funicular ride, walk approximately 6 kilometers through the Vall dels Cortals of Encamp until reaching the Ensagents path, which leads to the Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley.
Driving
To get to Refugi de Claror by car, drive towards the Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley. Several parking areas are available near trailheads. One option is to park near the Alberg La Comella along the Comella road (CS 101), approximately 4 km from the start. From there, follow the path up to Prat Primer through Riguer, passing El Cortal de la Plana. Another option is to drive to the end of the Cortals Road (CS-220) and park at Pleta dels Orris. Limited parking is available near the trailhead, so arrive early.
