Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving to Refugi de Montmalús, start from the main town of Encamp. Head east on the N-20 road towards the Grandvalira ski resort area. Follow signs for Grandvalira and look for signs directing you towards the Encamp ski area. Once you reach the ski resort, park at the designated parking area. Be mindful that parking may incur a fee, typically around €5-10 for a day. After parking, walk towards the gondola station (Telecabina Encamp) and take the gondola up to the Grandvalira ski area.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Refugi de Montmalús using public transport, take the local bus from Andorra la Vella to Encamp. The bus journey takes about 30 minutes and costs approximately €2-3. Once you arrive in Encamp, walk to the Telecabina Encamp, which is near the bus station. Purchase a ticket for the gondola to the Grandvalira ski area, which costs around €10-15 for a round trip. Once you reach the top, follow the marked hiking trails towards Refugi de Montmalús, which is approximately a 1.5-hour hike from the gondola station.

• Hiking

  After taking the gondola to the Grandvalira ski area, you'll need to hike to Refugi de Montmalús. Start from the gondola exit and follow the signs for the hiking trails, specifically the markers for Refugi de Montmalús. The trail is well-maintained but can be steep in some areas. Ensure you have proper hiking gear and water. The hike should take around 1.5 hours, and you'll be rewarded with stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
