Getting There

• Taxi

  From Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport (AXA), a taxi is the most direct way to reach Sandy Ground Beach. Taxis are readily available outside the airport terminal. The ride to Sandy Ground is approximately 10-15 minutes. Taxi fares are fixed and regulated by the government, with rates posted at the airport. A typical fare for two people from the airport to Sandy Ground is around $26. Additional charges may apply for extra passengers (around $5 per person) and luggage (around $1 per bag after the first two). After 6 PM, there's an additional surcharge of $4. Note that fares must be paid in cash.

• Walking

  From the center of The Valley, Sandy Ground Beach is accessible by foot, though it's a considerable walk (approximately 30-40 minutes). Head north, following signs for Sandy Ground. The route is straightforward, primarily along the main road. Be aware that sidewalks may be limited in some areas, so exercise caution and be mindful of traffic. There are no costs associated with walking.

• Ferry

  If arriving from St. Martin, take the public ferry to Anguilla's Blowing Point Ferry Terminal. From there, a taxi is needed to complete the journey to Sandy Ground Beach. The ferry crossing takes about 25 minutes, and the one-way fare is US$30 for adults and US$20 for children under 12. A taxi from Blowing Point to Sandy Ground will cost approximately $18 for two people with two pieces of luggage. Additional charges apply for extra passengers, luggage, and nighttime travel. Remember to factor in the departure tax at Blowing Point, which is US$36 for adults.
