Overview
Rendezvous Bay, located on the Caribbean side of Anguilla, is a captivating two-mile stretch of powdery white sand and calm, turquoise waters. The bay offers stunning views of St. Martin, creating a picturesque backdrop for relaxation and recreation.The bay's history is intertwined with Anguilla's own. The Arawak people, the island's earliest inhabitants, had settlements here. In 1796, French forces landed at Rendezvous Bay. In the early 1960s, Rendezvous Bay became the birthplace of tourism in Anguilla with the construction of the Rendezvous Bay Hotel.Today, Rendezvous Bay is home to a few hotels and beach bars, including the iconic Bankie Banx's Dune Preserve. The Dune Preserve is known as one of the world's best beach bars. The calm waters make it ideal for swimming, paddleboarding, and simply floating. The beach is perfect for long walks, with soft sand and gentle waves.
