Public Transport
The VITRAN bus system provides service around St. John, but does not travel down the North Shore Road. If arriving by bus, disembark at the Cruz Bay ferry terminal and walk to the National Park Dock. The bus costs $1 for adults. Be aware that the bus schedule can be unreliable.
Taxi
Taxis are readily available in Cruz Bay, especially at the ferry dock. Request a drop-off at the National Park Dock. Taxi fares from various points on St. John to Cruz Bay are set on a per-person basis. For example, from Cinnamon Bay to Cruz Bay, the rate is approximately $11 per person. Confirm the fare with the driver before starting your trip.
Parking
Parking in Cruz Bay can be challenging, especially during high season. Several paid parking lots are available, including Slim Man's, L&L, and the Lumberyard. Rates range from $5 to $50 depending on the time. Free parking is available at the DMV lot and the National Park Visitor Center, but these fill up quickly. Be aware that some parking areas, like Mongoose Junction, are reserved for customers only.
