Taxi
From Cruz Bay Ferry Dock, taxis are readily available. The ride to the Caneel Bay area, near Turtle Bay Beach, is approximately 10 minutes. Taxi rates are per person and typically range from $8 to $10. Confirm the fare with the driver before departing. Note that taxis on St. John are often shared safari trucks.
Public Transportation
From Cruz Bay, take the VITRAN bus towards Coral Bay. Inform the driver you wish to get off near Turtle Bay. The bus ride is inexpensive, costing just a couple of dollars. Keep an eye out for beach access signs. The bus schedule can be infrequent and unreliable.

Turtle Bay Beach is a picturesque public beach located on the north shore of St. John in the US Virgin Islands. The beach is situated on the northern edge of Hawksnest Point, offering stunning views across the Durloe Channel to Henley Cay, Ramgoat Cay, and Lovango Cay.
Once part of the exclusive Caneel Bay Resort, Turtle Bay Beach was previously only accessible by sea. However, in April 2024, the land was transferred to the National Park Service, making it part of the Virgin Islands National Park and opening it up for public access.
Snorkeling is a popular activity at Turtle Bay Beach, with vibrant coral reefs and diverse marine life close to the shoreline. The calm waters provide an excellent environment for both novice and experienced snorkelers to explore the underwater world. Expect to see tropical fish, colorful corals, sea turtles, and stingrays.
