In addition to hiking, the area surrounding Mount Carmel offers picnic spots where you can relax and enjoy a meal amidst nature. The Rohrman Sports Association unveiled the One Love Bench at the stunning Mt. Carmel Lookout in December 2024. Offering breathtaking panoramic views of Rendezvous Bay, Signal Hill, Sugar Loaf, Cherry Hill, and more, this special addition to the trail network celebrates love in all its forms—love for nature, love for fitness, love for your hiking group or buddies, and love for that special someone, whether here or gone. The bench will be a highlight of the 15k trail and hike event during the AUA Rohrman Trail Fest scheduled for April 19-20, 2025, but it is open now for everyone to enjoy.

Getting There

Walking
If you are already in Old Road, you can reach Mount Carmel by walking. From the center of Old Road, head north along the main road. It is approximately a 15-20 minute walk (1 kilometer) to the location. Look for the sign indicating Mount Carmel on your left. Ensure you wear comfortable shoes as the trail may be uneven. There is no cost for walking.

Public Transportation
To reach Mount Carmel using public transportation, you can take a local bus from Codrington to Old Road. Buses run frequently throughout the day, and the fare is generally around $2-3 EC (Eastern Caribbean dollars). Inform the driver that you want to go to Old Road. Once you arrive at Old Road, walk approximately 1 kilometer to the north until you reach the sign for Mount Carmel on your left. Be sure to check the bus schedule for the return trip. Bus fare: $2-3 EC.
