Car
If you are driving from the center of St. John's, start by heading northwest on Market Street towards the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Sir George Walter Highway (Highway 1). Continue on this road for about 2 kilometers until you reach a fork. Keep left to stay on Highway 1. After approximately 1.5 kilometers, turn right onto Fort James Road. Follow this road for about 1 kilometer until you see signs for Fort James. There is a parking area near the fort, where you can safely leave your vehicle.
Public Transportation
To reach Fort James using public transportation, you can take a bus from the main bus terminal in St. John's. Look for buses heading towards the northern beaches or specifically to Fort James. The fare is usually around 3-5 EC dollars. Once you board, inform the driver of your destination; they will let you know when to get off. The drop-off point will be close to the entrance of Fort James. From there, it's only a short walk to the fort itself. Be sure to check the bus schedule for return trips, as they may vary.
